Harbour Approach
The leading lights are both now much brighter having been replaced by green LED lights in April 2007.
The harbour entrance can become very congested especially on summer weekends, great caution is to be taken entering and leaving the harbour, vessels must adhere to the speed limit of 4 knots within the harbour and river and 6 knots elsewhere within harbour limits.
If the "Harbour Full" sign and signal is displayed you should not attempt to enter the harbour.
When the harbour is busy you will need to take great care around manoeuvring vessels.
The Wightlink Yarmouth - Lymington ferry when arriving and leaving the ferry berth is restricted on its ability to manoeuvre and is to be given a wide berth.
