HARBOUR DEVELOPMENT - LATEST NEWS
Tuesday 21st December 2010
Yarmouth Harbour Commissioners have decided to go ahead with Phase One of the harbour development and the new fuel pontoon in 2011. All licences and permissions are in place.
The main contract for piling and pontoons has been awarded to Walcon Marine, and the contract for the fuel installation has been awarded to Taylor Fuels.
Work is due to commence in January 2011 and be complete for Easter 2011.
Phase One will provide more walk ashore pontoons with electricity and water for both residents and visitors. There will be a rearrangement of pontoons and piles within the harbour.
New berths are to be provided for most of the commercial operators.
The fuel facility is to be moved to a floating pontoon closer to the harbour entrance.
