Skipper tips for safe speed

We love to welcome visiting seafarers to the harbour. Our Berthing and Reception teams are constantly working hard to ensure everyone has a fabulous time enjoying ‘the Yarmouth experience’!
But when you go to leave us – please remember – a 6 knots speed limit applies from the entrance Dolphin at the breakwater to the red East Fairway buoy and from there in a straight line to the Black Rock buoy at the Outer Harbour’s north-western limits.
Speed limits exist not just for the safe navigation of vessels in the harbour – but also for environmental reasons – to help protect and conserve the beautiful coastal and estuarian habitats that we are so lucky to have in Yarmouth Harbour.
Additionally – please don’t forget – in the River Yar and within the Inner Harbour area to the Dolphin at the harbour entrance the speed limit is 4 knots. Thank you for your cooperation.
