Tour of Britain finale comes to Yarmouth
There’s just over two weeks to go until the multi-stage cycling race ‘Tour of Britain’ comes to the Isle of Wight for the Stage 8 finale on Sunday, 11th September 2022. Over 100 of the world’s best road riders are set to take on the spectacular 150km route from Ryde to The Needles finish, passing through many of the Island’s towns and villages, including Yarmouth.
Yarmouth will be a great spectator spot on the route as the riders race across the Yar Swing Bridge – past our Harbour Office – and then head off towards the A3054 Tennyson Road for Sprint 2 of the race! Spectators in Yarmouth can also hot foot it to Alum Bay, ready to catch the race heading for the finish line overlooking the famous Needles chalk stack landmark and glittering sea views.
#TourofBritain ‘Cycle Hire Hub’ at Harbour Office
On race day (Sun 11th Sept), you too can get into the sporting spirit of this exciting event by jumping off your boat and onto a bike with Wight Cycle Hire’s pop-up ‘Cycle Hire Hub’ right in front of Yarmouth Harbour Office. For all our visiting seafarers staying in the harbour over the weekend of 10th to 11th September, and resident berth holders too, we invite you to ‘dress ship’ to help decorate the harbour.
