Waste Management

Yarmouth Harbour offers a range of facilities for disposal of waste and recycling generated by visiting vessels and mooring holders.

The harbour’s main waste and recycling skip can be found in the southwest corner of the Harbour Office car park, near the swing bridge.

All waste and recycling sites are shown on the Yarmouth Harbour map.

UK / EU Waste Only

No international catering waste is accepted, meaning that food waste from outside the EU must not be deposited in Yarmouth Harbour skips or bins.

Please contact the Harbour Office to make separate arrangements.

Waste Oil

Waste oil may only be disposed of in the ‘Waste Oil’ tank south of the Harbour Office.

Please ask at Harbour Office Reception for permission.

Flares

Yarmouth Harbour can no longer accept flares and nor can any Isle of Wight Police Station.

Please contact the nearest Maritime Rescue Co-ordination Centre (MRCC) on 023 9255 2100.

  • Damaged or out-of-date flares should never be used, dispose of safely as soon as possible.
  • Anyone who has expired flares is responsible for arranging safe disposal.
  • Contact your original supplier to see if they take time-expired flares.
  • Ramora UK also works alongside the Coastguard to dispose of expired flares.

Engine Batteries

Please ask Harbour staff for assistance.

Glass Bottles / Aluminium Cans

Green, clear, brown bottles, and aluminium cans should be disposed of in the waste and recycling skip in the southwest corner of the Harbour Office car park, near the swing bridge.
