The Needles
From dramatic coastlines to unforgettable experiences, no visit to the Isle of Wight is complete without a trip to see the world famous Needles rocks.
The three white chalk stacks leading up to the Needles Lighthouse are one of the Isle of Wight’s most iconic and most photographed sights.
The Needles Old Battery And New Battery
The Needles Old Battery is a clifftop fort at the very tip of the Needles headland and here you will find the remains of a Victorian coastal defence with an underground tunnel running deep through the cliffs to one of the best views of the Needles rocks.
A later New Battery fort higher up the headland was once the site of a rocket testing site, which played a part in Britain’s launch of space satellites.
